Abergele ..... top spec .....
Some Directions ......
This is from a descent world forum ... fairly accurate, I've annotated where relevant .....
there are many ways into the woods. depending on which way ur coming from, u can choose which is the easiest. as you drive out of abergele to colwyn bay turn just before the old toll house **** (this is a rather large castle like gate house, golf course signs).
follow the road up and take the 1st right. now follow this road, it should run along side an old wall. you'll see another old toll house ****(again, a castle like structure ) with a green gate. (there's a small parking area opposite). ok 1/2 way there. go throught the gate by the house and follow the track, you'll go through a narrow opening into the woods. go straight up this path. there'll then be a small track to ur left to go to a higher parralel path you can't miss it. now the long bit follow this path all the way to a fire road, you should se a junction on it, go straight on. if u keep an eye out on the left you'll see the finnish of the tracks. u can walk up the track from here or go further on and there'll be another pathway, its dead obvious. the other way in, again from abergele follow the old road as far as a bus stop and turn left at thr junction. you'll see a wall on ur left, not far up it's collapsed. enter here and follow this trail, its best to follow the most used/ obviously ridden track. at the end of this you'll come to a fireroad hairpin go up to another junction. its the same as in the other directions. its not hard to get lost once ur at the trails. if its the jumps ur after **** (defo worth the visit !!) carry on up the fire road until it starts to head downhill slightly. there'll be a slight widening of the road turn right into the ferns and follow a small trail down and ur there.
