Team shot on arrival .. after unloading the rides from the ATBC ....
Heh ! no updates for a while ...... But this was worthy !
Gray got back from Morzine on the Saturday, and not having tested tested his new Lanny, fancied a ride out on Sunday. Me an' Ash were up for that too, so we decided to head off to Bringewood (near Ludlow) for a days play ....... Quite a late start ... as we had to sort packing of rides & kit, and sort a few mechanicals, on mine & Grays rides finally underway, in fantastic sunshine, we nearly got a Peugot 206, stuck in a front tyre, the audacity of some folk eh ? Braking for traffic queues .... sheesh ..... but arrived safe and sound circa 14:00 ..... Hooked up with a coupla guys from Wocester, so we were able to utilise the uplift capabilities of the Lanny between us, comfortably getting 5 rides on the roof :-) (Tell you what, sans Lanny woulda meant a murderous walk back to the top with armour et al ..... )
Anyway, the routes, there are 2 distinct tracks, the first one we did was very much in the rooty switchback mode of many UK downhill tracks, serious fun in the dry, and fast, but I suspect would be doubly exiting in the damp ! Coupla nice leaps, and some good tree shaving corners, highlight is a bit of a gulley run, with fire roads breaking it into bite size chunks.
Best descent is the other one (man ! how descriptive is that ? turn right instead o' left at the top ! ) Starts by a trig point, so dead easy to find, after a right turn drops nicely into a dip, coupla off camber moments and a fabulous log jump. Next up some wide open forest provides a number of options thru', with some cheeky little air getters and some serious root moments. As it breaks into the 'open' there is quite a choice .... makes for a cool ride ! I had a big moment going left, toward what I thought was a lil kicker but turned out to be an almost fossilised tree stump with a drop off ! (fossil may be a tad poetic !)
Just after a little rythm section, you're onto a fir road, straight over it to a nice neg camber descent thru the trees, some great kickers, and a coupla large jumps as it zig zags down, ending in the same place as the other run, with a nice final leap ....
Top day, loads of runs, courtesy of the ATBC, All-Terrain Bike Carrier (Lanny !), and the company !
Happy Birthday Ash !

Doh ! Missed 'im ! Gray comin' in fast & loose on the las' jump ....
