| Report ..... Dave produces his Joker, as from a playing card pack & declares his intent to play it (did he know ?) Then Andy produces ...... Oh man ! Groundhog day ... 'Kin golf again ........ What ? Stableford scoring ? Oh joy of joy ............. Dave did the full 'Grumpy Old man' bit .. and after a number of false starts, including Dave putting Andy in the bunker, we got started ... For all that, Dave opened with a nice birdie, Andy securing a robust bogey to Bones & Brams pars. Next a 378 yard drive secured a birdie for Bram, Bones too and a lovely double bogey followed for Andy, after playing in the sand, Dave finished well at par. Bones then settled into his groove, getting some spectacular approaches in whilst Andy, Bram & Dave shared some ( fortunately short ) rough 'till Dave was DQ'd on the 7th. After Bones wet his ball (sploosh !) Dave 'I 'kin hate going first' sank a blinder, but having to open gave Bram the opportunity to sink a 54' Eagle .... At the 13th, it became obvious to dave that Bones had indeed been practising, after a quite unusual but successful shot resulted in him being at 19 points to Dave & Brams 4 and Andy's -1 !!!! With Bram and DAve enjoying sequential 'splash downs' and Dave pulling a blinder of a birdie, Bram dropped rapidly to 1 and Dave 'Its still anyones' hit 5, we can ignore Bones now as he's off in the meg-specs ..... and nothing short of tsunami proprtions would ruin it (tho' apparently he is in a category 'A' tsunami zone ...). Saving the piece de resistance 'till real l8, Andy sank the 17th from the tee, yep .. Hole in one.. Eagled when he needed it .. Bram's gone .... will finish last .. Bones will finish first, but Dave & Andy will have to play off for 2nd & 3rd Tying the first hole, the pressure mounted, 'till Dave eagled the 2nd and soundly thrahsed the opposition ... Final scores : 4 to Bones (we know what hes been doin' !!).... 3 to Dave, doubled with his joker, so 6 .... 2 to Andy & a positively dire1 to Bram ........... |
